West Midlands Band Contest ...
The band put on a good show at the recent West Midlands Band Competition coming 4th out of 6 bands. We even managed to come second in the Wind section - a remarkable result considering the age and inexperience of the wind section. We were up against three bands who will be in the class above us at the National and so now we are looking forward to the nationals in June.
National Band Competition - Contest Class Winners
Having gone down a class from Championship to Contest class (after losing several older members and a third of the band having not enetered a competition before) The Burntwood Brigades band put on an improved display from the West Midlands.
At the start of the day we would have been more than happy with one trophy and our aim was to put on a good performance to compete with other bands in the class. Imagine the joy when the young band won 3 trophies, Percussion, G.M.E. and overall class winners. Hard work pays off - congratulations to the band - Championship class next year !!
